Uhuru Enters into Partnership with Sony Semiconductor Solutions to Develop Sensing Solution Business

Uhuru Corporation (“Uhuru”, headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Takashi Sonoda) is pleased to announce that it is entering into partnership with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (“Sony Semiconductor Solutions”, headquarters: Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa, Representative Director President and CEO: Terushi Shimizu) for the development of a sensing solution business.

According to a study by Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), Japan-based corporations have roughly a 50% share of the global market for sensors, which are indispensable for AI and IoT. Demand for image sensors is becoming especially high in various industries including manufacturing and logistics, where manpower reduction and automation is rapidly progressing.

Uhuru is working on the development of IP related to the technology for preventing falsification of data collected by sensors and devices and ensuring “trustabliity” (Japan Patent No. 6656446, Registered Trademark 6176749, Trusted Device, etc.), and technologies and solutions that include enebular® to enable transmission of data between cloud and edge devices. These are essential factors for allowing data to flow between sensors and devices to solve numerous problems and create new business value.

Through this partnership, Uhuru’s technology and Sony Semiconductor Solutions’ sensing solution technology will be combined with the aim of creating businesses that generate profit continuously based on a variety of parties and data.
