Uhuru Providing a Remote Monitoring System for Land-Based Aquaculture

Adopted by Okumura Corp for its Recirculating Aquaculture System PoC

Uhuru Corporation, (“Uhuru”, headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Takashi Sonoda) is pleased to announce that it has provided a remote monitoring system to Okumura Corporation (“Okumura”, HQ: Abeno-ku, Osaka, President and Representative Director: Takanori Okumura) for its Land-Based Aquaculture System PoC.

What is a remote monitoring system for land-based aquaculture?

Utilizing existing assets and premised on saving labor and costs, Looocus, Uhuru’s back-end service for utilizing location information, is linked with the dashboard function of Salesforce UI to secure a data accumulation and analysis platform. Managing and visualizing the data related to water quality and video data acquired from devices installed at each tank is handled in the cloud. This system enables remote monitoring by automating recording of sensing data and sending alerts when abnormalities are detected in the water quality; and connecting with the camera systems.

System Overview

Okumura started a PoC* for land-based aquaculture technology at its Technical Research Institute in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture with the aim of getting involved in the closed-circulation land-based aquaculture industry.

Through Okumura’s adoption of our remote monitoring system for land-based aquaculture in this PoC, Uhuru is interested in contributing to its commercialization by demonstrating the following:
1. Demonstration of fish breeding
2. Establishment of water purification technology
3. Extraction of automation requirements and expected effects

Going forward, Uhuru will continue to support the creation of addition functionality with the goal of commercializing Okumura land-based aquaculture business. We also plan to promote sales expansion to other aquaculture companies.
