Saudi Arabia has been the host country for the Olympic Esports Games in 2025, and is actively strengthening its entertainment industry.

Uhuru visited Saudi Arabia to observe the world’s largest esports event, the Esports World Cup (EWC), to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s entertainment market. During the visit, we watched the matches alongside HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, President of the Saudi Esports Federation, and Ralf Reichert, CEO of the EWC Foundation, and strengthened our friendship with them.

Under the Saudi Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is rapidly developing, aiming to diversify its economy away from oil dependency by strengthening its entertainment industry, opening the country to tourism, and embarking on the construction of the futuristic city of NEOM. In response to this, Uhuru is actively expanding its business in the region, leveraging its achievements in tourism DX and smart city initiatives in Japan. In February 2024, Uhuru launched a joint research and development promotion program with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). In March, Uhuru presented at a booth in the Japan Pavilion at LEAP2024 in Riyadh, the largest tech event in the Middle East, showcasing solutions developed in Japan. In July, Uhuru signed a Partnership Agreement with web Arabia, a Riyadh-based IT company under the Alsabban conglomerate, to accelerate smart city projects, further advancing its business in the region.

Moving forward, Uhuru will continue to leverage the technology and expertise cultivated in Japan to promote its business in the entertainment and smart city sectors in Saudi Arabia.
