FII PRIORITY Europe 2026 is an international conference organized by the FII Institute, a Saudi Arabia-based global nonprofit organization. The event brings together government leaders, investors, and business executives from around the world to discuss critical global themes including economic growth, technology, energy, and security. Uhuru attended the summit as an official member of the FII Institute.

The summit brought together leaders from government and industry around the world, including H.E. Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia; Talal Al-Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh; H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia; and Travis Kalanick, Co-Founder of Uber, among others.

This year’s summit focused on the theme “Strategic Autonomy in Europe,” with discussions centered on AI sovereignty, energy security, strengthening of the defense industry, and promotion of international investment. During the event, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced that it has invested approximately €98 billion in Europe to date, and outlined plans to introduce approximately €10.4 billion in new investment opportunities for European partners by 2030, further strengthening economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Europe.

Takashi Sonoda, Founder & CEO of Uhuru, attended the summit and engaged in discussions with government officials, investors, and business leaders on the potential of data and AI in the tourism and entertainment domains. In particular, through dialogue with stakeholders involved in Expo 2030 Riyadh, he exchanged views on the application of data and AI in large-scale national projects and the potential for collaboration with Japanese companies.

Under Saudi Arabia’s national strategy “Saudi Vision 2030,” the Kingdom is advancing economic diversification and the creation of next-generation industries aimed at reducing dependence on oil-based revenues. Large-scale national projects such as NEOM, Expo 2030 Riyadh, the FIFA World Cup 2034, and Qiddiya are underway, accelerating the development of tourism, sports, and entertainment sectors and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s global presence.

Leveraging its experience in supporting DX across a wide range of industries, Uhuru will continue to promote the utilization of data and AI in the tourism and entertainment domains. Through its initiatives in the Saudi Arabian market, Uhuru aims to contribute to the realization of a SMOOTH society and the creation of new value through the integration of cyber space and physical space.
